Location: Fresno County
UDD Role: Community Engagement & Outreach
Urban Diversity Design managed the public outreach and engagement (O&E) for the Climate Resiliency Plan, a Fresno Council of Government (FCOG) project. The outreach activities included a project survey, stakeholder and community-based organizations interviews and popups at existing community events in prioritized high-risk locations. Engagement strategies focused on groups that were particularly vulnerable to climate impacts due to socio-economic factors or other factors and those who historically have been underrepresented in decision-making processes. Urban Diversity Design Helped FCOG to coordinate a CBO workshop at the early stages of the project. The project team solicited feedback and recommendations from the project stakeholder groups and CBOs on the best locations and events to set up popups. UDD and FCOG staff facilitated six popups in parts of Fresno county representing both rural and urban risk zones.
